Why is there no chinese royal family today?
it just came to my mind when i was researching because some of the country like korea, they have royal family( btw the royal family has been dismissed few years ago). It is true that korea, like china, have a lot of royal family due to dynasties but Korea choose one as the official royal family and which is the last royal family or the latest one of the last dynasty which is "joseon dynasty" so i thought china will have too. But, it just came to my mind that it's quite understandable that china didnt made the last dynasty's royal family

(btw the former royal family of qing is still around! because at that point of time, during the fall of qing. Many members of the royal family are killed! only left a few like puyi who in the end took up the tile as emperor of Manchuria (which is part of china in the present) as the rising of Japan empire put him to be. and puyi was a puppet emperor for japan as manchuria was part of japan empire at the point of time. He was the puppet emperor until the fall of japan empire, which end during world war 2.)

because is NOT Han chinese royal family! Chinese is a race with great pride through out the whole history even when the country fall, their pride cause them to rise up again in power. As you can see now who is governing china now.
.. some of you may not be interested but cause i love history.

i came about this short answer. and its quite true.

"For one, what do you mean by China does not have a royal family? Do you mean that China don't have a royal family now? If that is so, then the answer is simple, because China does not have a Emperor/King/Ruler now, it has a President or a Chairman (I don't know why they started to call him the "President" since presidents suppose to be elected by the people and Chairman does not). But if you were referring to royal families in general... then things can get complicated as China went through so many dynasties and thus theres many many people with royal bloods. Some might be lost, for example the royal family of Qin Empire was all slaughtered by Xiang Yu after the Qin Empire was overthrown, some went into hidings when their empires were overthrown such as the "Zhu" family of Ming Dynasty. There are many who have changed their last names to escape the slaughtering (as a rule, the newly established government/empire tends to kill all of the overthrown royal families in hope that no one would use their name for uprising). After the late Qing Empire was overthrown, its royal family (family name; Aixin-Jueluo) changed many of their names, such as "Jin" and "Ai". Theres a news paper article about a man with the family name of Aixin-Jueluo working in a small office in Beijing, if the Qing Empire still stands, he would be a duke. Thailand and Malaysia are same as China, they went through difference Empires, ruled by different families. But unlike China, Thailand and Malaysia still retained a King, though no one knows how much power the King has. Now, as to Japan, the situation are different because Japaneses Emperor retained a pure blood lineage, for example the current Japanese Emperor is the decedent of the First Japanese Emperor. They were all from the same family. This is a rare and special thing considering how many different families ruled China and other nations. However, the main difference was that Japanese Emperors have no saying in their politics as the Prime Minister and Shogun (during ancient times) that ruled Japan. Japanese Emperors were only there for religious purposes as they believed the Emperors were the descents of the Sun God. The only reason why people would want the post of a Emperor/King/Ruler was to govern and rule, if the King/Emperor is useless, why would they want it? Thus, though there were many uprisings in Japan, the royal family stood in tact while the ruling Prime Minister/Shogun's family had been changed many times. Now to England, as far as I know, is no different than China and Thailand and Malaysia and Japan. It had been ruled by many different families, for example the Tudor and York and Stuart. The only reason why England still retain it's royal family was that it had been a great tradition and... the royal family's power is very limited due to the Magna Carta. The Parliament makes most of the decisions. I think this post above pretty much answers the question. There are certainly (Qing dynasty) Aisin gioro descendents around today, and sometimes you hear about them. They are the closest in time, so probably the easiest to find, but I guess descendents of Zhu, Zhao and other royal families going back also are around, but probably just all diluted in the general population. If the royal family no longer has power, there's not much reason to make any publicity for your belonging to it, except for some kind of nostalgia value. I remember when I lived in France, there were some nostalgic descendents of French royalty, but they had no real prominence at all, just more a personal nostalgia thing. Like others say too in their posts, there's a big difference between countries where monarchy is still in place, and countries with no monarchy anymore. Not all emperors had so many children, Qing after Daoguang Emperor had a dismal record, two children for Xianfeng, one girl -died quite young - and one boy, Tongzhi Emperor, died childless, and none for Guangxu or Puyi. Aisin Gioro descendents now are from other branches of the family."
